In the News: Pine St closure coming; Hollywood filming movie here

"The Department of Public Works is warning residents that a section of road on Pine Street leading to Bellingham will soon be closed due to construction. 
The $55,000 project to replace a culvert pipe will occur over about a three-week period starting Monday, but the road will be closed to public traffic all the way to the Bellingham border. 
Deacon Perotta, director of operations at the Franklin DPW, said the repair is necessary to make sure there are no flooding issues in the area. 
“We have a road problem there,” he said. “Basically, the culvert underneath the road has become impacted because of its age.”

"People in Franklin could possibly catch a glimpse of stars over the next week or so, and they’re not the ones in the sky. 
Town Administrator Jeff Nutting has confirmed that Hollywood is in town finishing up the latest iteration of “Little Women,” due out next December. The secured set is at an undisclosed location in the Forge Park industrial area and is closed to visitors. 
One of the stars said to be doing final work on the film is silver screen legend Meryl Streep, who is playing the role of Aunt March in the famous Louisa May Alcott story. Also said to be doing work here is A-lister Emma Watson, who first rose to fame as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies. She plays the role of Meg March. 
A producer for the film did not return calls for more information."
