“Every day it doesn’t snow, I’m a happy DPW director"

"After struggling to find help, the Department of Public Works is offering new incentives for candidates to plow streets this winter. 
Last week, the Town Council agreed to offer additional cash bonuses to hire about 30 more contractors with snow removal machinery before the winter weather sets in this year. 
Contractors who are already signed up have been given an extra $1,000. In addition, they’ve also been offered a $500 bonus for each piece of equipment that stays in commission until the end of the season. 
“Say that you have eight pieces (of equipment), that’s four grand at the end of the year,” said DPW Director Robert “Brutus” Cantoreggi. 
In addition, the DPW is also offering $500 to current contractors who successfully recruit others onto the Franklin force."
