FHS football tops Wachusett, field hockey tops Oliver Ames on Thursday

Football = Franklin, 36 vs. Wachusett, 14 – Final

1st Quarter: (F) Mike Davide 12-yard rush, Arnav Dhulipati XP good; (W) Brian Pupecki 3-yard rush, Ben Domineck XP good.
2nd Quarter: (F) M. Davide 4-yard rush, XP no good; (W) Dillon Harper 53-yard pass to Ethan Blomquist, B. Domenick XP good.
3rd Quarter: (F) M. Davide 5-yard rush, A. Dhulipati XP good; (F) Zach Winer 35-yard interception return, A. Dhulipati XP good.
4th Quarter: (F) Safety; (F) M. Davide 1-yard rush, A. Dhulipati XP good.

Field Hockey = Franklin, 7 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – Final

– Franklin scored three times in both the second and third quarters to pull away from Oliver Ames for a season-opening win. Raena Crandall had a huge game for the Panthers with four goals, including a first half hat trick. Crandall gave the visitors the lead off of an assist from Emily Carney in the first quarter. Crandall scored twice more, first from Carney and then from Sophia Cueno, sandwiched around a goal from Haley Wernig (from Crandall and Lindsay Dennett). The Panthers carried a 4-0 lead into the second half and tacked on three more in the third: Crandall (from Chloe Essam), Carney (from Cuneo), and Addie Weiss (first career goal). Devon Barry (five saves) and Chloe Strassner (three saves) combined for the shutout.

Volleyball = Franklin @ Oliver Ames – Postponed to TBD.
