Calling all artists - first public art micro gallery is here - YOU can be part of it

Calling all artists! Franklin’s first public art micro gallery is here, and we want YOU to be a part of it!

We’re inviting local and regional artists to submit proposals for original, site-specific artworks to be showcased in a unique neighborhood art space.

This small but mighty gallery will transform a repurposed library box into a dynamic space for creative expression.

Submit your proposals by May 1st to contribute to Franklin’s cultural vibrancy. Let’s bring art to the heart of our community!

Franklin TV: WFXT Channel 25 - A collaboration with COX Media Group

by Pete Fasciano, Executive Director 02/16/2025

A common perspective on PEG TV studios is that we are bare-bones, low-rent TV. Nope. Not here.

At Franklin TV, we apply the same technical broadcast studio standards, tools and techniques (and creativity) as the largest TV stations in Boston and elsewhere. Channel 25 recently discovered this when they came to record an extensive interview segment on child care licensure and qualifications with Juvenile Court Judge and author Carol Erskine for their Thursday evening news.

When their crew arrived they were gobsmacked. “This place is – amazing.” All they had to do was take a seat and talk. We handled everything else. Easy-peasy. They noted that they’ll be sending our work to the twelve COX Media TV stations in the U.S. www.cmg.com Not shabby. Do you have a TV series you would like to create? We can do the same for you – for free.

Just email info@franklin.tv, or call us at 508-541-4118. We make it easy-peasy –
just like we did for Channel 25.

And – as always –
Thank you for watching.
Thank you for listening to wfpr●fm.

Upon officers’ arrival they observed the glass on the front door had been smashed and entry made. A witness reported a blue vehicle fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the vehicle or any suspects.

Officers and Detectives remain on scene and are investigating. It is unknown at this time what, if anything, was taken from the shop. No further information will be released at this time as this in an ongoing investigation.

There were two previous break-ins at this shop recently, once on Sunday, February 4, 2024 and again on Sunday, March 10, 2024. Three juveniles were charged in relation to the February 4th incident. The March 10th incident remains under investigation.

Pantherbook: "A Closer Look at Franklin High’s Creative Media Team"

Lily Eattimo, has this write up for Pantherbook:

"Fall Sports are now officially over – Photographers Sammy Patel and Hunter Smith are preparing for Winter Sports, including basketball, hockey, and indoor track, among others.

You may have seen Patel and Smith’s work on Franklin High’s TV’s, or your Instagram and Twitter, as they run the Creative Media Team for Franklin High School.

The Creative Media Team is a subsection of Pantherbook, focused on creating, editing and designing graphics for Franklin High School sports. Their work, including both photo and video, is distributed on the Franklin High TVs, seen throughout the school, or on their Instagram and Twitter accounts. Their work keeps the community involved with Franklin sports, including some exciting shutouts and losses."
