Boys Basketball = Franklin, 64 vs. Brockton, 40 – Final
– Franklin senior Caden Sullivan had six steals and junior Justice Samuels had six blocks as the Panthers used a strong defensive effort to takedown Brockton. Franklin built its lead in the first quarter (18-11) and had a 28-22 lead at halftime. Late in the third quarter, Franklin put together an 8-0 surge in the final minute to turn a competitive game into a rout (46-28) going into the final eight minutes. Franklin held Brockton to just six points in the third and 12 in the fourth. Sullivan finished with 22 points — his sixth straight game with over 20 points to start the season — and six rebounds and three assists, Joseph Conlan added 11 points and five rebounds, and Samuels chipped in eight points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
Girls Basketball = Franklin, 41 @ Wachusett, 64 – Final
– Franklin led by one after the first quarter, but the Panthers were outscored 35-13 over the second and third quarters and the unbeaten Mountaineers ran away with the non-league win. The Panthers scored 15 in the first with Lauryn DiGiorgio scoring four points, Sophia Sacramone adding four, and Mallory Santos and Tessah Rodrigues both knocking down threes. Wachusett locked down over the next two quarters to open up a big lead. Franklin scored 13 in the fourth, including five points from Liz Dumais, but couldn’t mount a comeback. DiGiorgio, Sacramone, and Dumais each scored seven points in the loss, while Lena Malymina added six. Wachusett had three in double digits, Teegan Lampher (19 points), Sophia Gibbons (13), and Jae Scott (11).
