"Franklin senior Haley Wernig has been selected as the 2024 HockomockSports.com Field Hockey Player of the Year. The midfielder was one of the top scorers in the league this season, leading the Panthers to another unbeaten Hockomock campaign, a sixth straight Kelley-Rex division title, and another berth in the Div. 1 quarterfinal.
HockomockSports.com Field Hockey Player of the Year Wernig was third in the league in scoring during the regular season with 47 points. She scored 28 goals and dished out 19 assists, then added two more goals in the opening round win against Attleboro in the tournament and added the 100th goal of her career in the Sweet Sixteen win against Wachusett. The league’s coaches selected Wernig as the Kelley-Rex division MVP."
