Roundtable Networking.png

This free program is available through a grant from the Massachusetts Councils on Aging (MCOA) and the Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA)

Hello, Job Seeker!

We have an exciting 50+ Job Seekers

event this week you won't want to miss!

Thurs, June 1st, 10:00 - 11:00 am

Part-Time Work By Choice:

Tips for Finding and Maintaining Part-time Professional Work

Savvy Seeker Series: Panel with Leanne Rodd!

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the total number of people working part-time voluntarily - 22 million in January 2023 - is now almost six times the 4.1 million who are working part-time but would prefer full-time hours. Driven by caregiving, burnout, and the economic realities of inflation, the part-time work landscape has shifted dramatically with more opportunities for those seeking flexibility.

During this panel discussion, we'll talk about recent shifts in the part-time landscape and hear tips for finding and maintaining part-time, professional jobs, including:

- Tips for finding part-time opportunities

- Job attributes that work well with a part-time schedule

- Negotiating a part-time schedule for new/current roles

- Setting clear and positive boundaries for work hours and deliverables

- Effective communication strategies

- Pros and cons of working part-time

This panel discussion is offered by 50+ Job Seekers in MA, co-presented with Encore Boston Network, and hosted by FlexProfessionals, a Boston-area talent resource specializing in flexible, professional roles. Leanne Rodd, Director of Talent at FlexProfessionals, will moderate the discussion.
