Voices of Franklin: Colin Cass - "Democrats for Dooley" half true

We received a letter in Franklin this week titled “Democrats for Dooley” and signed—“sincerely”—by two people, Dan Fallon and Daniel Ranieri.

Ranieri may be for Dooley, but he’s not a Democrat.  He’s a registered Republican.

Ooops.  I’m sure he’s sorry if he confused anyone.

When you claim to be a Democrat and you’re actually a Republican, this is called LYING.

  1. I am unenrolled-independent- and have been a democrat since JFK and I support Dooley.

  2. Colin Cass if you looked at the letter sent out it listed me as the Democratic State Rep during my term in office which by the way is absolutely accurate. I was a Democrat for close to 50 years but l like many no longer agree with the agenda of the progressive left and have become Republican or Unenrolled. I have always voted the individual no matter what political party I belong. You know nothing about me and to attack me because I apparently do not support your candidate is a perfect example of what is wrong with today’s political environment. I was proud to serve Franklin for over a decade and of greater pride was the support I received from all political perspectives. It is folks like you which discourages good people from running for office. I would have hoped you would have focused on the substance of the letter and not some effort to discredit my point of view with some misleading attack on my character. Next time if you have a question about something I signed pick up the phone and call me but of course today it is to easy to write negative comments on social media. By the way I’m supporting Shawn Dooley not because he is a Republican but because he is a hard working, honest and common sense candidate.
