Where: Join on Zoom or by phone

Precious Perez is a classically trained pop/R&B and Latin vocalist/songwriter currently pursuing a double major in music education and vocal performance at Berklee College of Music. Her goal is to make a difference through doing what she loves and showing the world that blind people are as capable as everyone else. She hopes to inspire future generations to pursue their dreams and be successful in the same way that she has, because she knows that anything is possible, and giving up is never an option. As an activist and music educator, she will be able to make a difference by using her reach as a Puerto Rican Spanish speaker to crush stereotypes by sharing her experiences across cultures and doing what has not been done while advocating for all of the communities she represents. She is confident that she can lead, she can achieve, and she can be the one who alters the way people see.

Join us as Precious shares her talent and her message! Below is the information to join via Zoom on by phone.

LiveARTS: Two Pianos, Four Hands, all Rachmaninov! - Mar 21

LiveARTS presents  Duo Pianists

CYNTHIA RAIM
&
DAVID ALLEN WEHR

An all-Rachmaninov re-stream on Zoom in collaboration with the
Philadelphia Chamber Music Society!

Sunday, March 21   at   3:00 PM

Pianist CYNTHIA RAIM
Pianist CYNTHIA RAIM is acclaimed for her concerto, recital, and chamber music performances throughout the United States and abroad and has recorded for Gall, Pantheon, and Connoisseur Society, including solo albums of Ravel, Schumann, Brahms, and Schubert and two-piano recordings of Rachmaninoff, Brahms, and Dvořák with David Allen Wehr.
She is a native of Detroit, where she studied with Mischa Kottler, Ms. Raim studied with Rudolf Serkin and Mieczyslaw Horszowski at the Curtis Institute of Music, where she earned bachelors and masters degrees.

DAVID ALLEN WEHR

DAVID ALLEN WEHR's performance career has taken him on tour to over 30 countries in Europe, North and South America, and the Far East, including performances in the world musical capitals of New York, London, Paris, Vienna, Washington, Madrid, and Buenos Aires. Wehr has been soloist with the London Symphony, National Symphony, Chautauqua Symphony, Houston Symphony, New Zealand Symphony, and all the major Spanish and Latin American orchestras.

PROGRAM

All Rachmaninov program!

Suite No. 1 for Two Pianos, Op. 5

Fantaisie tableaux Rachmaninov: Duets, Op. 11 [Sel.]

Rachmaninov: Suite No. 2 for Two Pianos, Op. 17

LiveARTS and PCMS favorite Cynthia Raim is joined by her longtime piano partner, David Allen Wehr, for a rarely-heard, two-piano, four-hands, all-Rachmaninov program. Lauding the duo's recording of the Suites for Two Pianos, a Pianoforte critic raved: "Here are two fine artists who sound as if they might have stepped right out of a Russian academy. They allow the composer's melodies and phrases a natural shape without ever imposing technique on them, with a great feeling of contrast, light and shade."

Join us for the fourth concert of our current season,
a donation-based concert!

To take advantage of this opportunity, go to our website, liveartsma.org, and order a free ticket.

The Zoom link will be emailed to you 24 hours before the concert.

Franklin Performing Arts Company Update

These early spring days, although still cold and snowy, give me hope for change and optimism for the future of the performing arts.  I believe the arts world will come charging back with renewed creativity and enthusiasm, focus and commitment.   Thank you for the kind support you have given to the Franklin Performing Arts Company!  It is only with your help and generosity that we have been able to make it through this extraordinarily challenging time.

Although we endured frightening circumstances in 2020 with THE BLACK BOX closed and our artistic endeavors forced online, I believe at FPAC we proved ourselves resourceful, creative, and resilient.  The Franklin Performing Arts Company produced online content throughout the quarantine with nightly performances from home and a Virtual Benefit in June featuring FPAC favorites, as well as Broadway guests who care deeply about the survival of our theater and company.

As soon as allowed in July, we put up a stage in the parking lot of THE BLACK BOX and began outdoor concerts that ran throughout the summer.  Our safety measures and protocols in place, we worked to instill confidence in a tentative public and provided a safe place for artists to do what they love - perform.  We ran some events at break even, but importantly provided a venue for many local, Boston, and New York based artists who had not made music or set foot on a stage since March.

During the summer, FPAC introduced an online ticketing platform and established an invaluable relationship with Franklin TV, allowing us to film performances, livestream, and broadcast to virtual audiences.  As the weather began to change in the fall, Dean Bank sponsored a tent under which we continued to stage shows through the end of October.  I am proud of the extensive programming we presented throughout 2020 including cabarets and concerts of all kinds, a newly conceived Gala, and a COVID-safe book musical.  Thank you for being a part of this and remaining in our corner.

Now it is time to see our way forward!  We will continue to livestream entertainment until we can welcome an audience back into THE BLACK BOX, and in early April we will install a tent in the parking lot of THE BLACK BOX to host events outdoors through June.  We have a lot of work ahead of us to secure the future of our venue, but we are working on all opportunities to strengthen our organization and move on.

Thank you for being a special friend of FPAC.  Your commitment to the arts is critically important at this time and your generous support is appreciated by the entire FPAC community.  I hope to see you soon at THE BLACK BOX or outside in our parking lot theater.  Wishing you health and well being as we inch toward Spring and on to Normal!

Best,

Raye Lynn Mercer, Executive/Artistic Director
