FHS Alumni Ryan Martin updates via the Boston Globe:
"Franklin 5, North Attleborough 3 — The Panthers (2-6-2) netted goals on back-to-back third period possessions to beat the Red Rocketeers (3-3) in a Hockomock League matchup at Pirelli Veteran’s Arena. Senior captain Jack Wernig netted the winner with his team-leading eighth goal of the season before assisting on junior Rocco Lampasona’s first varsity score seconds later for added insurance. “Earlier in the game it wasn’t our day,” Wernig said. “But we came out hard there in the third and then it was great to find [Lampasona] for his first two points.” North Attleboro earned its only lead by outscoring Franklin 3-0 in the second period on goals from junior Caysen Gagner, senior Cam Souza, and freshman Shaun Colonna. “There were a couple tough shifts in the second,” Franklin coach Jake Brightbill said. “But these guys stuck together through adversity and took it shift by shift in the third.” Franklin senior captain Carter Balducci (5 points) led off the scoring with two straight unassisted goals in the first period."
