Girls Soccer = Milford, 2 @ Franklin, 4 – Final
– Franklin rallied twice from a goal down in the first half and pulled out a crucial home win that moves the Panthers into a first-place tie with KP atop the Kelley-Rex division. After Kyla Nashawaty gave the Hawks the lead from the penalty spot, Morgan Lovell settled a throw in, spun her marker, and crossed from the end line for Phoebe Cuneo to knock in the equalizer. Three minutes later, freshman Anela Lefter crossed from the right and Kayleigh Tourtellot met it with a thumping back post header to restore Milford’s lead. It took only two minutes for Franklin to level the score again. Anna Carosi and Lovell played a nice give-and-go on the right side and the sophomore curled a shot under the keeper to make it 2-2. In the final two minutes of the half, a long ball over the top found Lovell behind the Milford defense and she coolly slotted it home to put the Panthers in front. Franklin doubled its lead with 28 minutes left to play. From a Milford corner, the Panthers counterattacked and Lovell timed her pass perfectly to spring Cuneo, who won a challenge with the keeper and tapped into the now open net.

Boys Soccer = Franklin, 1 @ Milford, 1 – Final
With the Kelley-Rex division race tightening up, Wednesday’s results did little to provide separation at the top.

Franklin and Milford battled to a 1-1 draw in a hard-fought matchup, splitting two potentially crucial points. The Panthers move into a tie for first with King Philip, while the Scarlet Hawks sit just three points back. Attleboro’s win at Sharon also keeps the Bombardiers in the mix, two points off the lead with three league games to go.

The visitors, who controlled the tempo and dictated play for the majority of the opening 40 minutes, earned a lead by halftime on a goal from senior Aidan Araujo. But the Hawks were in control for almost the entire second half with a handful of scoring chances, and found the equalizer just before the midway point on a header from junior Henrique Lopes.

“First half I thought [Franklin] outplayed us in all aspects,” said Milford head coach Antonio Pinto. “They were more intense, they played better soccer than us, they had more possession than us. I thought we flipped the script in the second half and we outplayed them. We were a lot more dynamic than we were in the first half. We just have to have a bit more composure in the attacking area and I think we could have had a couple more goals.”
