What is a ‘Yart Sale,’ exactly? Somerville is hosting its first one
"If you took up an artistic hobby like so many others while stuck indoors at the height of the pandemic, or if you’re a seasoned veteran with a lens, brush, or knitting needle, this might be the perfect chance to share — and perhaps even sell — your work with the community. On August 14, Somerville is hosting its first “Yart Sale,” a citywide event that welcomes artists of all calibers to set up shop on their porches, or in their yards and driveways, and sell their artwork to passersby. The event is a mix between the city’s annual pop-up musical gathering, PorchFest, and Open Studios, where artists open up their workspaces, in that attendees can hop from one neighborhood to the next throughout the day to see what’s on display."

Franklin Federated - Yard Sale - Oct 19 |
"At Noelle Day Spa and Salon, there’s no need for a lawn to have a yard sale.
After the business’ recent remodel, owner Noelle Carpenter noticed she had a lot of extra stuff to get rid of. Carpenter determined that many of the items were still in good condition, so she figured out a way to help a good cause.
“Instead of throwing all this extra stuff we had away or selling it, we thought, ‘Why don’t we just put everything in this room and give the money to charity?’” she said.
The money will be going to JDRF, an organization dedicated to research on Type 1 diabetes, a cause close to her own heart."

Update!!!!! Due to the weather on Saturday we are adding Sunday to the yard sale time. So you are getting a double yard and craft sale. We had a few people who can only do Saturday so we will be under the overhang 9 AM till we blow away. There are also multiple houses that are using their garages so they are indoors. So please come see us, get some home baked goods and hot chocolate, buy a map for 2 days of sales and enjoy! Then go back out Sunday and have more fun! I know I said I was going update by tomorrow morning but the forecast is not going to change...no matter how much I want it to.
