She is the CEO and founder of Resiliency and Optimism Changes Lives Therapeutic Coaching Services LLC. She is the curator of Conversation with Coach LA radio show/podcast, self-care events, and her signature coaching programs BET on SELF, and The F.E.M.E. project.  Kathy Kim is a community activist and the daughter of the late Mr. Kim of Alpha & Omega, a sneaker store in Roxbury founded in 1977. She is also a board member of Haley House, a local nonprofit that addresses housing and food insecurity.    Ruthzee Louijeune is serving her second term as City Councilor At-Large and unanimously elected as Boston City Council President, is a grounded, thoughtful, and inclusive leader. A dedicated public servant, Ruthzee is committed to fostering shared prosperity in Boston with a focus on justice and equity. Moderator: Fred Bernabe, Psy.D. Candidate, M.Ed., is Senior Director of Community Education and Outreach at Samaritans. Fred is an experienced mental health therapist, facilitator, trainer, licensed math teacher, entrepreneur, and equity advocate from Dorchester, MA. As a first-generation Haitian American, he is fluent in Haitian Creole and American Sign Language. K9 Robbi, End of Watch, September 9, 2024

K9 Robbie answered his last call on Monday, Sept 9, 2024. Follow the link to review the Franklin Police official video of the brief service recognition.

"Today was a sad day for the FPD as we said goodbye to K9 Robbi. K9 Robbi passed away this afternoon following a brief illness.

K9 Robbi joined the Franklin Police Department in 2017 and served for 7 distinguished years. K9 Robbi was named after SSG Robert Pirelli of Franklin. SSG Pirelli was a member of the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and was killed in action in August of 2007. K9 Robbi was a dedicated guardian to Officer Michael Gilboy and his family. K9 Robbi was Officer Gilboy’s 4th dog with the FPD in his 20 + years of service.

K9 Robbi has assisted in numerous searches for people and evidence while a member of the patrol division and Metro-LEC SWAT. He will be very much missed. Our thoughts go out to Officer Gilboy and his family. As we said goodbye to K9 Robbi we were joined by the Gilboy family, members of the Metro-LEC team, and area K9 handlers.

Fallen Hero Recognition: David Bullukian - Sep 9, 2024, 9 AM

Memorial event today (9/9/24) at 9 AM on the Town Common Veterans Walkway to honor Warrant Officer David Bullukian, WWII. 

This program will include the placing of a Memorial Wreath for the day, the playing of Taps, a salute from those present, and a reading of whatever history  may be available for that veteran.  This is a way of keeping the memory of that veteran alive.

Fallen Hero: Warrant Officer David Bullukian, Jr., U.S. Army Air Corps

Warrant Officer David Bullukian, Jr., U.S. Army Air Corps, was born in Franklin on June 11, 1919, the son of David and Lucy Bullukian. David lived at 64 Cottage Street with his parents and sister, Beatrice. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1937 and served in the local Naval Reserve. 

David joined the Army Air Corps where he rose steadily ahead in rank after attending the army air force advanced flying school for twin engine aircraft. He was one of 20 enlisted men to receive the coveted appointment as a warrant officer and served as the assistant post technical inspector at the Greenwood Army Air Field. Warrant Officer David Bullukian, Jr. was killed in a plane crash in the Midwest in 1943. 

In the memorial service for Warrant Officer David Bullukian, Jr. the Rev. Holge N. Schluntz expressed these words, “We recall with gratitude the splendid personal characteristics and patriotism of this young man.” 

Warrant Officer David Bullukian, Jr., age 24, left his young wife Jeanette of Indiana at the time of his death in 1943.

Harvest Festival help needed -can you volunteer an hour or 2 ???

"Attention Franklin residents!!!  

You know the old saying…it takes a village!  

The Harvest Festival is a beloved family event that the downtown partnership has hosted for 21 years!!! But we CANNOT do it alone.  

Our entire committee is made up of volunteers giving their time to make sure the event can go off successfully and safely. If you have 1-2 hours to give on Sept 28th please email us at fdpevent@gmail.com.

Economic Development Subcmte gets update on branding project, Franklin consultant selected (audio)

FM #1273 = This is the Franklin Matters radio show, number 1273 in the series. 

This session of the radio show shares the audio recording of the Economic Development Subcommittee (EDC) held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 in the Council Chambers. 

All four members of the subcommittee were present in Chambers (Hamblen, Chandler, Sheridan & Frongillo).

Deputy Administrator Amy Frigulietti provided an overview of the consultant selection process which was put out to bids, the bids reviewed, consultants interviewed, and then Franklin resident A.J. Rebecchi was announced as selected.

The branding survey responses and other materials collected in this effort will be shared with AJ as work on the branding continues. 

The town seal will remain for official documents. The branding effort will better position Franklin departmental information with a consistent look & feel, better enable sharing of info via the social channels, and be utilized gradually in the planned wayfinding signs, vehicles markings, etc.
