Charter school trustees and subcommittee members sought

For over 20 years, the Benjamin Franklin Educational Foundation (BFEF) has played a vital role in supporting the growth and development of the Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School (BFCCPS). Originally focused on funding capital improvements, BFEF’s mission has evolved to encompass a broader range of initiatives that enhance the student experience beyond what tuition alone can provide. From facility upgrades and staffing infrastructure to academic enrichment and parent education forums, BFEF is committed to securing the school's future by diversifying its funding sources.

As the landscape of public education funding faces uncertainty, we turn to our community—current families, alumni, and supporters—to help sustain the exceptional, well-rounded education that defines BFCCPS. Now, more than ever, your involvement can make a meaningful impact.
The Foundation is actively seeking trustees and subcommittee members to help drive its mission forward. Whether you have experience in fundraising, event planning, or expanding academic and extracurricular programs—or simply a passion for supporting our students and educators—there’s a place for you here. Join us in shaping the next chapter of BFCCPS and ensuring its legacy of excellence continues for generations to come.

What to Expect

Evaluating Your College Financial Aid Offers - March 26
Evaluating Your College
Financial Aid Offers - March 26
Not all college financial aid offers are created equal. For families with students recently accepted to college, making sense-and cents-of the various financial aid offers they receive can be a difficult and confusing process. This session will focus on better understanding the nuances associated with financing a higher education and the many aspects that contribute to net cost, including merit scholarships, need-based grants, state and federal aid, student and parent loans, the FAFSA and beyond. The event will include a Q&A period.

**Announcing** Young Artist Recital: Kingsley Chen at LiveARTS - April 6

LiveARTS is proud to present:

Kingsley Chen
Sunday, April 6th, at 3:00 PM
First Universalist Society in Franklin,
262 Chestnut St. Franklin, MA
LiveARTS is delighted to welcome back the emerging young pianist Kinsley Chen for a recital including the music of Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Bartok, and Mozart.

Join us SUNDAY, April 6th, at 3:00 PM

Twelve-year-old Kingsley Chen was born in Hong Kong and began piano studies at the age of three. From the age of five, Kingsley started winning local, regional, and international competitions. When the family emigrated to the U.S. and settled in Las Vegas, Kingsley was instructed by famed Ukrainian virtuoso Mykola Suk, faculty at University of Nevada. The family then moved to the east coast and since 2020 Kingsley has been studying with Prof. Victor Rosenbaum and, most recently, with Victor Cayres at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School.

Recent performances include recitals at NEC Jordan Hall along with college students of the conservatory, a feature in a video recital for the "Young Virtuoso Series" of the World Piano Teachers Association, a recital at the 13th SONORO PIANOFEST at Miami Dade College and a recital at Steinway & Sons in Miami, as well as a  concerto performance with a chamber orchestra conducted by Mr. Rosenbaum in a benefit Concert for Ukraine and Yemen. Kingsley's dream is to bring beautiful music to the world, and he believes that music is a dialogue of the soul

"Chen emerged with the tune impressing us with unassuming natural musicality." The Boston Musical Intelligencer
