FHS girls soccer tie 1-1 with Foxboro on Tuesday

Girls Soccer = Franklin, 1 @ Foxboro, 1 – Final 
– Franklin and Foxboro each scored in the final 10 minutes of the game to walk away with a point apiece. Foxboro created a number of scoring chances, especially in the first half, but Franklin keeper Rachel Welch had a big game to help keep the Panthers close in what was a hard-fought game from both sides. After both teams struck the woodwork in the second half, Erin Foley got the opener. A Jordan Carman free kick deflected off Kailee McCabe in front of goal and fell to the sophomore midfielder to knock it in. With three minutes remaining, Stella Regan got the equalizer, finishing off an assist from Lily Deforge to secure the draw. Foxboro coach Katie Stalcup said, “It was a well fought game on both ends. I am proud of how hard my team fought the entire game.” Franklin coach Jodi Klein added, “Fantastic, competitive game from two very evenly matched teams. Both teams left everything on the field today.”
