Girls Soccer = Franklin, 3 @ Natick, 3 – Final
– Franklin twice held leads in the second half but settled for a point in a thrilling, back-and-forth game against fellow D1 contender Natick. The Red Hawks grabbed the first lead of the match, but Franklin equalized when Lily Strong finished off a pass from Morgan Lovell. The Panthers grabbed their first lead when Lovell headed a corner off the crossbar. Gwen Holland reacted first to the loose ball and finished for a 2-1 lead. Natick leveled the match but the Franklin hit a textbook counterattack to regain the advantage. After clearing a dangerous Natick free kick on the edge of the box, Lovell sprung Strong down the right channel and the sophomore coolly lifted her shot over the onrushing keeper to make it 3-2. Natick answered back with nine minutes remaining. Franklin thought it won the match with three minutes to play, but Strong’s goal was called back for a tight offsides call and the end-to-end match ended in a draw.
