Franklin High School: concert time scheduled for Tuesday & Thursday

The FHS Chorus and Orchestra Concert is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec 6, 2022 from 7 to 9 PM at Franklin High School.

The FHS Band Concert is scheduled for Thursday, Dec 8, 2022 also from 8 to 9:30 PM at Franklin High School.  (updated after mailing on 12/06/22)

26 Franklin High School Music Students were accepted to the Massachusetts Central District Honor Band, Chorus, and Orchestra

Twenty-six members of the Franklin High School music program virtually auditioned and were accepted into the 2022 Massachusetts Central District Honor Ensembles. Twelve of these Franklin High School students received All-State audition recommendations.  

Due to the pandemic, the festival will continue to look a bit different this year. Students will participate in one virtual rehearsal with the conductor.  Students will then be tasked with practicing their music and submitting a recording of their performance.  

Central Districts will have each part edited into a virtual audio performance.  Accepted Franklin High School students are as follows:

  • Central District Orchestra: Aadit Bhatia - Violin, Christopher Broyles - Viola, Shreya Choudhury - Violin, Kyle Formato - Cello, Vivienne Loukota - Viola, Jossalyn Mascio - Violin, Patrik O'Brien - Cello, Weylan O'Connell - Bass, Anton Sackley - Percussion, Pritam Sompally - Viola, Sarayu Vijayanagaram - Violin, Leo Yang - Violin
  • Central District Band: Adithya Balagurumoorthy - Baritone Saxophone, Karah Bradanese - Clarinet, Thomas Bradley - Trombone, Emma Brown - Flute, Nipun Goel - Trumpet, Derek Halet - Trumpet, Joel Keller - Tuba, Sydney Lincourt - Clarinet, William Olbrys - Trombone, Lola Richardson - Flute, Zachary Simms - French Horn, Maria Zaki - Flute
  • Central District Chorus: Margaret Diehl - Alto
  • Central District Jazz Band: Colin Manocchio - Trombone, Ian Richardon - Bass

Franklin High School Music Achievements - Central Districts recognizes 26 students

26 Franklin High School Music Students were accepted to the Massachusetts Central District Honor Band, Chorus, and Orchestra

Twenty-six members of the Franklin High School music program virtually auditioned and were accepted into the 2021 Massachusetts Central District Honor Ensembles. Twelve of these Franklin High School students received All-State audition recommendations.  
 
Due to the pandemic, the festivals will look a bit different this year. Rather than performing in a large ensemble, those students who received All-State recommendations are invited to perform in a virtual masterclass.  This means that they will perform a solo in front of a virtual audience and receive feedback from a highly respected music educator.  All other Sr. District students will have the opportunity to observe these masterclasses.  
 
Accepted into the Central District Band will be Karah Brandanese - Clarinet, Thomas Bradley - Trombone, Simon Brooks - Tuba, Nipun Goel - Trumpet, Derek Halet - Trumpet, Carley Johnson-Pellegri - Bassoon, Joel Keller - Tuba, Ryan O'Rourke - Euphonium, William Olbrys - Trombone, Prem Pendkar - Alto Saxophone, Lola Richardson - Flute, Anton Sackley - Percussion, Zachary Simms - French Horn.
 
Franklin High School students performing with the Central District Jazz Band will be Colin Manocchio - Trombone and Ian Richardson-Bass.  
 
Selected to perform with the Central District Orchestra is Aadit Bhatia - violin, Christopher Broyles-viola, Shreya Choudury - Violin, Kyle Formato - Cello, Chai Harsha-viola, Jossalyn Mascio - Violin, Grace Newton - Violin, Weylan O'Connell - Bass, Sarayu Vijayanagaram-violin.
 
Accepted into the Central District Chorus is Claire Bauer.

Private Music Lessons: For all ages (children, teens, adults). Monday through Thursday at Franklin High School. Instruction is offered in the following instruments: Cello, Clarinet, Flute, French Horn, Guitar (acoustic, electric, ukulele), Low Brass (baritone, trombone, tuba), Percussion, Piano, Saxophone, Trumpet, Viola, Violin, Voice. Lessons begin the week of 9/9/19 and enrollment is ongoing throughout the school year.

27 Franklin Middle School Music Students to perform with Massachusetts Jr.Central District Honor Ensembles - FHS to host event

Twenty seven members of the Franklin Middle Schools music program auditioned and were accepted into the 2019 Massachusetts Jr. Central District Honor Ensembles. Franklin students represented Annie Sullivan Middle School, Horace Mann Middle School and Remington Middle School. The performances will take place this Saturday, April 27 at Franklin High School beginning at 2:00 PM.

Participating in the Jr. Central District Band are Sophie Fioravanti, Sydney Lincourt, Derek Terwilliger, Joel Keller, Adithya Balagurumoortjy, Maria Zaki and Katie Zercie.

Jazz Band is Marcus Altieri, Colin Manocchio and Christopher Botchis.

Selected to perform with the Jr. Central District Orchestra are Nicholas Bauer, Sibi Charan Dinakaran, Vivienne Loukota and Pritam Sompally, Lola Richardson, Vignan Kamarthi, Leo Yang, Patrick O’Brien, Kyle Formato, Josalyn Mascio and Weylan O’Connell.

For the first time, Franklin High School will be hosting this exciting event. Top musicians and educators from throughout Central Massachusetts will join together on April 27 to perform the music that has been prepared over a three rehearsal period. 

The Franklin Music Boosters and the Franklin Music Staff, lead by FMB president Deborah Ryan and Director of Music, Diane Plouffe are prepared to welcome over 1000 student musicians and their families for a day of music. The day will begin with rehearsals, followed by two concerts. The Honors Chorus and Jazz Band concert will be held at 2:00 PM, while the Orchestra and Concert Band concert will be at 4:00 PM. Both performances will take place in the Franklin High School auditorium.

Following the performances guests are invited to attend the Franklin Cultural Council “Taste of ArtWeek” Festival held on our town common from 4-8 PM. This event will include a craft fair, live performances, a beer and wine garden and food trucks.
