Dogtopia of Franklin is the Top Dog on the Local Doggie Daycare Scene; scheduled to open June 17

Dogtopia, the nation’s leading dog daycare, boarding, and spa facility, is set to open a new location in Franklin on June 17, 2024. The new center will host an open house event on June 13th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Located in the Franklin Village Plaza (475 Franklin Village Drive), Dogtopia of Franklin is looking forward to welcoming all local dogs and families.

The new Dogtopia location is operated by District Manager, Tara Gendreau. Tara was born in Boston and raised in Watertown. Later, she moved to Eastern Canada and that is where she was able to bring her passion for pets into her career. Tara spent 10 years managing pet stores across the Maritimes until returning to Boston, where she continued growing in the pet industry. Tara has been working with animals for over 25 years and is now following her dream of working with pups at Dogtopia of Franklin Village. Tara is very excited to bring fun and memories to the dogs in the area.

“Dogtopia will fit in perfectly in the Franklin community,” said Tara. “This area is full of dog lovers and pet parents. I cannot wait to be a part of each dog's most exciting day ever, over and over again!"

Providing personalized care for Franklin pups in a fun, safe, and comfortable environment, Dogtopia sets the industry standard among dog daycares with its three key benefits: education, exercise, and socialization. Dogtopia is the perfect place for pups to gain those important social skills and play with new furry friends. Along with their open house event, the Franklin location is also offering unlimited daycare at $79/week for the first six weeks (click here for details, limited spots available).

Dogtopia’s environment allows dogs to feel comfortable and enjoy plenty of playtime and exercise, and the various playrooms offer fun for dogs of similar size and temperament. Each playroom has compressed rubber flooring to ease joints, prevent slipping, and promote safer play. Dogtopia allows each dog to stay active throughout the day in an environment that is safe and clean, which can give local families peace of mind.

To ensure the safety of all pups, pet parents, and their team, Dogtopia in Franklin is taking extra safety precautions alongside their rigorous cleaning protocol. Dogtopia maintains a custom cleaning program that utilizes pet-safe products that clean, disinfect, and offer the highest level of safety available. The playrooms are sanitized twice daily when the pups are resting, and routine detail cleaning is performed throughout the day. Each playroom has a powerful HVAC unit, with in-duct UV lighting that funnels air out of the building to ensure clean, fresh air and eliminate bad bacteria and viruses.

Alongside providing quality care in a healthy, safe, and fun daycare center for local pups, Dogtopia also launched the Dogtopia Foundation with the noble cause of enabling dogs to positively change our world. Dogtopia of Franklin will focus on raising funds to sponsor a service dog in training for a veteran. One hundred percent of the funds raised will be donated directly to the cause. To learn more, visit www.dogtopiafoundation.org.

Dogtopia of Franklin's hours of operation will be from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday, and 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. For more information on Dogtopia of Franklin, call 508-964-3695, email franklinvillage@dogtopia.com, or visit https://www.dogtopia.com/massachusetts-franklin-village/.

Franklin Dog Park needs your financial support

The Franklin Dog Park needs your help.  Last year, due to COVID, both major fund raising venues for the park were cancelled.  As a member of the Franklin Downtown Partnership we relied on the generosity of those who stopped by our booth during both the Strawberry Stroll and Harvest Festivals to enroll in our raffle, make a token donation for a handmade doggie bandana and enjoy the freebie treats.  Many attendees first learned of the dog park during their visit to our booth.

The Furry Friends purchases all the supplies for the park (doggie waste bags, hand sanitizer, toys).  Several years ago we purchased two benches and this year we had helpful signs made to display around the park.  On the average we spend annually up to $1,000.00 and sometimes more.  We do not receive any financial assistance from the Town of Franklin although, the DPW is a wonderful supporter doing all necessary repairs at the park.

The Franklin Dog Park is the “people’s park.” As such every effort is made to keep it clean and safe for the dogs and their owners – many of whom travel from surrounding towns.  Please consider making a donation to help us cover costs.

The Furry Friends has a checking account at the Dean Bank in downtown Franklin.  Your donation will go directly into that account.  We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.  Your contribution is tax deductible to the extent provided by law.

Please make your check out to: Furry Friends of Franklin, Inc.  Either stop by Dean Bank or mail your check to Dean Bank, 21 Main Street, Franklin, MA 02038.
