“I’d also like to thank Race Director Krystal Whitmore and our Sponsorship volunteer, Kim Cooper. We are fortunate to have an incredibly hard-working group of dedicated volunteers, led by Krystal, to make this event come to life,” said Powderly. “Krystal organizes church members, high school students, and her own family to plan and work the event, while Kim works tirelessly to secure local businesses to cover the associated costs. The Turkey Trot is an amazing amount of work, and we could not hold this incredible community tradition without them.”
The Franklin Food Pantry offers supplemental food assistance and household necessities to more than 1,000 individuals per year. The Franklin Food Pantry is not funded by the Town of Franklin. As a private, nonprofit organization, we depend on donations from individuals, corporations, foundations and other strategic partners. We are grateful for our many partnerships, including that with the Greater Boston Food Bank, that allow us to achieve greater buying power and lower our costs. Donations and grants fund our food purchases, keep our lights on, and put gas in our food truck. Other programs include home delivery, Weekend Backpack Program for Franklin school children in need, mobile pantry, emergency food bags and holiday meal packages. The Pantry is located at 43 W. Central St. in Franklin on Route 140 across from the Franklin Fire Station. Visit www.franklinfoodpantry.org for more information.

10th Annual FBRTC Virtual Race – 5K run or walk 2021 -> May 22-31 |
Get ready to burn off those Thanksgiving calories before dinner AND give to the Franklin Food Pantry.
This year the Franklin Food Pantry is holding its 9th Annual Franklin Turkey Trot 5K as a virtual race. The turkey trot will still officially run on Thanksgiving morning, November 26th, but you can run or walk your own personal 5K when it is most convenient for you. Once you have finished the race, you can post a picture on social media sharing that you completed your run and use the hashtag #turkeytrot2020.
To register, go to http://www.franklinturkeytrot.org! Free shirts will be given to the first 100 to register.
All proceeds from this event go directly to the Franklin Food Pantry to provide quality healthy food to hungry families in our local community. In 2019, the over 1000 entrants, donors and sponsors raised almost $21,000!
We hope you will still join us and register to support this great cause!
