BFCCPS capstone project conducts a Circus Show to benefit Circus Up - MARCH 22 (Date changed)

For my BFCCPS capstone project, I am working to create a circus show that will act as a fundraiser for the organization, Circus Up.
I will be hosting the circus show at my circus studio, Eastern Acrobatics and Circus at 28 Eliot St Natick, MA. The show is great for all ages and will be happening on Sunday, February 22nd at 2 PM
Unfortunately, the heat broke at the venue. The event is being rescheduled to Sunday, March 22nd at 2 PM . We will be selling tickets at the door for $8 per person and free for kids under 3.

All of the profits will go to the Circus Up group that works in the greater Boston area to help under-served communities have access to circus, regardless of financial status, physical ability, or other impediments.

Brief recap
- Presentation on the Chapter 70 Program - Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
- State constitution calls for funding education. Chapter 70 was developed in 1993 to administer the program. It was revised in 2019 with the Student Opportunity Act (SOA). It attempts to normalize school funding across the Commonwealth. Communities can spend more than the state determined "foundation" level but the state will assist the community in meeting the foundation level.
- Franklin is a minimum aid community as the current calculation calls for state assistance in the amount of $13M and we were previously getting $30M, hence we are being held harmless by that $17M. The 17M is the amount that the state determines Franklin could and should be funding from our local resources.
- There is a study underway to take a look at the local contribution requirements but it is likely a couple of years away from taking effect and it is not yet know what will happen. While Franklin is #2 on the list of communities being "held harmless", the number of communities on that list is growing due to the revised calculations

"The PCO proudly announces our second of four Faculty Grant recipients, Janine Bartsch! She was approved for a $488.50 grant towards 5-grade biography books.
"Fifth Grade needs biography books on very specific people for a long-term biography project. They ask for my help every year. I spend my normal operating budget on other fictional books kids really want to read. I want to get a grant that will cover the purchase of the biography books the fifth-grade team needs. Outside the fifth-grade biography project, the books can be enjoyed year-round by the rest of the school."

Continuing to flesh out our ideas for the node summer booth opportunities to build on what we decided at our last meeting. We concluded we'd find an appropriate dollhouse to be able to put various energy components on: solar, heat pump, battery storage, (we should also include insulation). That will help explain to adults the point of our Save Money with Clean Heat petition.
If we're going to offer that conversation to only adults, we'll need to think about kids activities.
To refresh your memories, here are the last meeting's minutes so you can review our discussion and remind yourselves of what research some of you promised to do.
