"River Runs Through"

From the Pour Richard's Newsletter:
This mural, created by the Franklin community at last year's Harvest Festival, has been donated to the Franklin Food Pantry. It is being exhibited at different locations around town this summer, and right now, it's at Pour Richard's!
Stop in to view the mural, and while you're here, please consider purchasing a raffle ticket. The winning ticket will be drawn at this fall's Harvest Festival, and the winner can decide to take the mural home or donate it to an appropriate public space: Town Hall, a school, the library, etc.
Many thanks to Jane Curran of Jane's Frames for initiating this great project!

The Franklin Downtown Partnership found the proper mix of flower blossoms this year. The mix of red, white, and blue blossoms gives the downtown a patriotic color.

Yoga on the Beach (Chilson Beach)

One of the Franklin Recreation programs that caught my eye:
Let go of your busy week and gift yourself an hour of yoga on the beach. While surrounded by the vastness of the sky and the sound of water, let stress flow away and clear your mind.
Learn how to regulate breathing and activate a feeling of serenity at the same time as you strengthen and tone your body through gentle yoga asana.
All levels welcome. This class will be held at Beaver Pond.
If you have any questions please contact the instructor, Jo Ann at lalibert1@verizon.net

Road updates

Several side streets off Union that had been crack sealed are now 'chip sealed' (I think that is the term). The walk on Sunday revealed Delta Dr, Odyssey Lane and Parmenter Way as newly coated.

In the News: missing time capsules

Somewhere beneath the dirt and gravel at Franklin High School, memories are stored.
Just how many remains conjecture: Members of past graduating classes put the number at five — time capsules buried in 1977, 1979, 1983, 1984 and 2000.
But many Franklin High alumni have given up hope of ever digging them up. And they have expressed recent disappointment in the school department for not caring more about the memories, potentially lost forever.

Camping tips

The Mass.gov blog has a good set of tips on camping in Massachusetts.
Summer is here and it’s time to venture outside and make the most of the great outdoors. If you’re ready to leave behind the comforts and conveniences of home for a few days and explore the wilderness, camping is a fun activity the entire family can enjoy.
Massachusetts is home to at least 29 unique campgrounds with different open and close dates during the summer. Certain locations offer online reservations and can be made as late as one day prior to your arrival. Anyone 18 years old and over can make a reservation with a valid photo ID.
