Franklin TV: Tri-County Topped

A culmination – and a beginning

by Pete Fasciano, Executive Director 09/14/2025

Tri-County is finally realizing its dream – building a 21st century school facility. The long journey to today’s ‘topping off’ ceremonies began BC – before COVID. Architectural dreams often begin as design sketches – on napkins – in notebooks. Sketches become plans. Plans become projects. Today, that dream has a shape, sketched across the September sky – in steel.

Franklin TV: Tri-County Topped
Franklin TV: Tri-County Topped
The bones of the building now stand tall and strong.

The teachers, students, planners, political advocates, supporters and well-wishers all came out to celebrate the momentous event on a glorious Friday morning. So much work has been done to make this happen, and so much more will unfold over the next few years to complete Tri-County’s extensive regional vocational facility.

At a time when careers of every stripe face growing concerns over the threat of AI to future employment, the recognized and rising need for a highly skilled trades workforce that can meet the country’s future construction and infrastructure needs is becoming all the more acute. Skilled and talented ‘makers of tomorrow’ will come from schools like Tri-County which is clearly preparing to lead the way.

A grateful nod goes out to all who helped to guide this much needed initiative along the way. At the outset, the cost of such dreams can seem dear, but the generational value for decades to come is invaluable.

And – as always –

BLAST is back !!

BLAST is back !!
BLAST is back !!
#BLAST is back!!!

Eight years ago @caleighsage and I met with the goal of trying to get the @franklinpubliclibrary into the school system.

We talked, we planned, we fought, we readjusted, and we succeeded.

In the years that followed, BLAST became part of our identity. It spread to five other schools in the district, some charter schools, and even some neighboring towns.

Today was the first time we had BLAST with everyone under one roof at #FranklinMiddleSchool It felt momentous - it was something to celebrate

Cheers to BLAST Wednesdays! (And if your student needs a public library card, have them see me. )

Field Hockey = Franklin, 7 @ Taunton, 0 – Final
– Franklin entered halftime with a three-goal lead and then more than doubled it with a big third quarter to run away with a win on the road at Taunton. Addi Weiss (from Penelope Brady), Ava Lucenta, and Cade Taccini (first career goal) found the back of the net in the first half to give the Panthers a 3-0 edge at the break. Lily Aparo and Ella Marzullo (Brady) scored within the first four minutes to ignite the offense while Weiss tacked on two more before the end of the third quarter to complete the hat trick. Devon Barry had the shutout in net for Franklin. Taunton junior Kennedy MacEachern had 28 saves in the cage for the Tigers.

Volleyball = Franklin, 3 @ Taunton, 1 – Final
– After splitting the first two sets, Franklin rolled to two straight wins to take the match, 3-1 (25-7, 21-25, 25-8, 25-14), on the road at Taunton. Senior Makayla Kuykendall absolutely dominated offensively with 26 kills on 45 attempts (.489 hitting percentage) and also chipped in 11 digs, Olivia Caruso dished out 32 assists, libero Emma Cunningham anchored the defense with 28 digs, and Emerson Delleo had a strong all-around night with 15 kills, eight digs, and a pair of aces for the Panthers.

– Franklin recorded its lowest score of the season and had six of its eight golfers shoot 41 or better in a division win over Milford. Junior Tyler Perlman carded birdies on five and seven to finish with a medalist round of 34 to lead the Panthers while Ben Burgess had a birdie on the ninth hole and finished with a 36 for the round.
