FPAC Hosts Cabaret Starring Singers from the Stages of Boston, Providence, and Beyond

The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) will host A Starry Night: A Cabaret on Friday, January 9 featuring singers from the stages of Boston, Providence, and beyond. FPAC, Franklin’s own Actors’ Equity Professional Theater, is thrilled to welcome talented singers from the area’s robust theater scene to THE BLACK BOX stage for an evening of great music.

Hosted by Ali Funkhouser with music direction by Henry Roseman, the evening will star Dan Callaway (Phantom of the Opera Tour), Anthony Pires, jr. (Lyric Stage, Wheelock Family Theatre, Central Square Theatre, Greater Boston Stage Co.), and Leslie Ellis (City of Angels on Broadway, CATS Tour, La Cage aux Folles Tour, GRAMMY Award for her vocals on Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On”). 

They will be joined by Perry Albert, Olivia Buckley, Jack Cappadona, Cameron Clements, Erin Collins, Johnny Gordon, Zoë Iacovelli, Gwenn Hope Rodriques, Samantha Mastroberte, Ally Anna McLean, Izzy Scampoli, Peter Tedeschi, and Brandon Wong.

FPAC is an Actors’ Equity Small Professional Theater company based at THE BLACK BOX in downtown Franklin, MA. Each season, FPAC produces musicals, plays, and more featuring Broadway stars, professional actors, local performers, and emerging artists.

FHS girls (video) & boys basketball teams both top North Attleboro on Tuesday

Girls Basketball = North Attleboro, 45 @ Franklin, 58 – Final
– Franklin used a big second quarter to pull away from North and earn its third win in the last five games. With a 15-12 lead after one, Franklin’s offense connected for 24 points in the second to push the lead up to 18 at halftime. Sophia Sacramone sank a pair of threes, Tessah Rodrigues scored seven, and Kaylee Fernandes chipped in with four points in the quarter to help Franklin take control. North won the second half 24-19, but it wasn’t enough to put pressure on the Panthers. Fernandes scored a career-high 15 points, Rodrigues finished with a dozen, and Sacramone had 10. Kendall Mone chipped in with seven and Lila Reagan sank a pair of threes for Franklin. Jordan Egan paced the Rocketeers with 10 points, including six in the fourth, and Bella Houghton and Ava Pratt each scored eight.

Boys Basketball = Franklin, 51 @ North Attleboro, 31 – Final
– After being held to just two points in the first quarter, North Attleboro’s offense came alive in the second to make a game of it by halftime but Franklin’s defense took control again in the second half to pull away for a big win. The Panthers held a 13-2 edge after eight minutes but the Rocketeers scored 18 points in the second to cut Franklin’s lead to 23-20 at the break. Franklin’s offense had its best quarter in the third, highlighted by a pair of threes from Ben Scaccia, five points from James Crowley, four from Justice Samuels, and a bucket from Kyla Batla all while the Panthers held North to a pair of field goals for four points and a 40-24 lead going into the fourth. Scaccia added another triple in the fourth and finished with a career-high 20 points to lead the charge for Franklin while both Crowley and Samuels had eight points apiece. Jake Peckham scored a team-high 10 points for North and Dylan Brousseau added eight points.

Phase 9 - Sewer Lining Project Continues on Friday January 9th.
Below is the anticipated schedule for the Sewer Lining work that National Watermain will be conducting:
Friday 1/9 - Mainline Sewer Lining between Pond St and Partridge St.
Please follow posted detour signs and use caution when driving in these areas.
During this part of the lining residents that will be directly affected will be notified. If you experience any issues please call the DPW at 508-553-5500.
This work will help to improve the structural integrity of our sewer system and reduce groundwater intrusion which reduces our bill from the Charles River Pollution Control District.

Serving as the brand’s first location outside of Connecticut and first franchise location – operated by The Coop Group.  Located at 477 W. Central Street, the square foot space will serve the brand’s signature Crispy, Crunchy, Juicy, Spicy, Delicious Chicken (CCJSD) and vegetarian "Not Chicken," including THE Sandwich (Food Network, Guy Fieri's "Best Bite in Town" Grand Champion), house-crafted sauces, craveable sides and seasonal limited-time offerings.  The Franklin store joins nine Haven Hot Chicken locations in Connecticut.

“You have not experienced hot chicken until you’ve tried Haven Hot Chicken, and The Coop Group is thrilled to help bring this concept to a new market – in a new community,” said Jake Dagdigian, General Manager and Operating Partner of the Franklin location. 

“We’re excited to support our community during our grand opening by giving away a free slider for every $3 donation we collect that will go to the Franklin High School Athletic Department,” added Brian O’Loughlin, The Coop Group Partner.

The Franklin location will be open 7 days a week (Open Every Day for Everyone) Sun - Thurs 11am-11pm and Fri - Sat 11am - Midnight offering online and app ordering with their own delivery, curbside takeout, delivery with DoorDash, UberEATS and Grubhub, and a robust catering service.  The brand’s mission of helping raise crucial funds to help curb food insecurity locally through its signature “The Great Banana Puddin’ Drive,” will donate 50 cents from the sale of each Banana puddin’ to The Greater Boston Food Bank.
