ATO fraternity brothers to host 'A Day for Doh Boy' in memory of Michael Doherty

"Alpha Tau Omega fraternity will host an event March 30 to raise funds for a memorial bench in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens to honor junior Michael Doherty, who died in May.
The fundraiser—titled “A Day for Doh Boy,” a play on Doherty's nickname—will take place on March 30, and will begin with a barbecue on Craven Quad catered by Alpaca Peruvian Charcoal Chicken. Later that Friday, the event will move to Triangle Sportsplex Ice Rink, where Doherty spent much of his time at Duke practicing with the Club Hockey team.Continue reading online

"With the next presidential primary less than two years away, the state’s top elections official is calling on lawmakers to pass an automatic voter registration bill this year so the system can be in place for 2020.
“To make this really work, we need it passed in 2018,” Secretary of State William Galvin said at a press conference with members of the Massachusetts Election Modernization Coalition.
An automatic voter-registration bill has now advanced to the House Ways and Means Committee.
According to the election modernization group, 11 states have passed automatic registration legislation, and the bill here has the backing of more than half of the lawmakers in each branch, with 84 representatives and 22 senators signed on as cosponsors."

Head's Up: Weekend Train Service Via Shuttle buses Apr 7 - May 27
Weekend train service on the Franklin Line will be replaced by ADA accessible shuttle buses, making all regularly scheduled stops, between Forge Park/495 and Readville stations from April 7th through May 27th during the installation of PTC.

Bus shuttles will run on all weekends April 7 – May 27, 2018.
Shuttle Stops
Free, accessible bus shuttles will travel between Forge Park/495 and Readville, making all stops (except Plimptonville*).
At Readville, you can connect to the Franklin Line Commuter Rail train, making all stops between Readville and South Station (except Hyde Park*). You'll need to pay a Zone 2 fare.
