Town of Franklin Police: Training Continues via Simulation; Award for Crisis Intervention Training program

"Training never stops. Franklin PD works with Blue Line Corp. every year to bring their live fire trailer to the PD. Officers are put through accuracy, and judgment scenarios to keep them fresh even when the outdoor ranges are not available.
Here Deputy Chief Mill and Sergeant Johnson work through a video scene in which officers are given a scenario, and walk though the situation and fire live rounds into a projection screen if the situation calls for it. Not all do, and officers must use sound verbal commands, and answer for why they did, or did not shoot.
It is another learning tool the Franklin Police uses. Many people think police training with firearms is all shooting. This type of training forces officers to use good judgement, and explain their actions. Not every scene is a shoot situation, and officers must use de-escalation or less lethal options if called for."

"Proud day for the Franklin Police Department as our officer Tyler Peabody is presented with an award from Norfolk County TTAC and Brookline MA Police Department for his work with the Crisis Intervention Training program.
CIT is an advanced level of training for officers to help them recognize and assist those individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
Look for coverage from Boston 25 News's Robert Goulston (6pm) and WBZ NewsRadio's Kim Tunnicliffe-WBZ Reporter as they speak to Officer Peabody, Chief Lynch, and Advocates, Inc. mental health clinician Kallie Montagano about the Franklin Police approach to helping those in need.

DPW installed rain garden at end of Griffin Road

"Things we do that you may never see or know about!
The Franklin Department of Public Works is installing a new "rain garden" at the end of Griffin Road. This rain garden will treat stormwater pollution from Griffin Road and Matthew Drive. The rain garden will then allow treated water to slowly seep into the aquifer under the Town that we can use as drinking water.
The cool part is all the construction materials needed for this project is being paid for by a $112,000.00 competitive grant that the we were awarded by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for innovation and creativity for this project and others in Town."

Voices of Franklin: Dellorco Endorses Chiklis

On Saturday, December 5th, the Town of Franklin will be holding a special election to fill a vacant Town Council seat. I am impressed that we have four special candidates running for this seat.  While all of them have great qualities, there is one candidate, that stands out as a candidate that would be a great and vital addition to the Town Council.

I would like to endorse Gregory Chiklis Ph.D. for the open Town Council seat.  Greg has been a Franklin resident and business owner for over 20 years.  Greg is an active member of the community, raising his family and participating in many community activities.  He volunteered many years as a coach in the Franklin Youth Baseball League.  Greg took a leadership role at the Franklin Rod and Gun Club, providing activities for for the youth in Franklin.

It is in this past year that I have seen how committed Greg is to this community.  During the Pandemic, Greg has spent countless hours providing COVID testing to  Franklin Public Employees and anyone else that asked.  He also, just recently, tested several students coming home from College, to ensure the health and safety of the students, their families, and the community.  As a current business owner, he has vast experience with budgets and planning.  He has committed to working hard to bring new businesses to Franklin.

I am asking you to consider voting for Gregory Chiklis on Saturday, December 5th at Franklin High School,   Greg has the commitment, compassion, and experience to get the job done!

Thank you!
Robert Dellorco
