Fields of Danger? (video)
NBC Nightly News updates the crumb rubber story.
Why is this a concern for Franklin?
"It's the most common form of artificial turf and millions of children play on it every day, but is it safe? We put the question to the feds in our NBC News investigation."
"The list has nearly doubled, from 34 to 63 gathered from around the country. 15 have died."
"We're not willing to let our kids be the guinea pigs"
Thanks for the alert from @turfgrassforum
Why is this a concern for Franklin?
A new field was installed at Franklin High School with crumb rubber. There are two additional fields being budgeted for an update in the next couple of years. If there is enough interest, then perhaps the crumb rubber on those two (Beaver Pond and Pisani Field) could be updated with a safer mix than crumb rubber.

Hockomock Sports Managing Editor Josh Perry provides an in depth summary of the field hockey game Thursday.
For the first time, Franklin and King Philip field hockey met up on the brand-new turf at Macktaz Field in a meeting between the first and third place teams in the Kelley-Rex Division.
The Panthers came in unbeaten in the league, but the Warriors came in fired up at the chance to knock their rivals off the top of the league standings.

Senior attacker Casie Curtin hit the edge of the circle and fired towards goal, but Franklin senior goalie Sam Jones, who had spent 20 minutes standing in the cold wind as mostly a spectator, was out to cut down the angle and kick the shot aside.
