Cultural Connections is a free arts and culture roundtable. We will meet Oct 10 to discuss engaging your organization's community.

Join us! Cultural Connections, a free arts and culture roundtable, will be held Oct. 10 at 7 PM in the Community Room at the Franklin Public Library (118 Main Street, Franklin).  Anyone interested in arts and culture, from any organization in any town, is invited to attend. The subject of this roundtable will be Engaging Your Community, which will build on our May meeting of Defining Your Community (though attendance at the previous meeting is not required!)  How do you effectively engage with those in your community?  What have you tried that has worked well, and what has not?  How is your engagement different through social media vs email vs in person at an event?  Is it enough to engage with those already committed to your cause or organization?  We will discuss all of these questions and more, plus share some creative ways you may not have thought of to encourage community participation. FHS boys soccer tops Xaverian 1-0

Boys Soccer = Franklin, 1 @ Xaverian, 0 – Final
– Franklin scored the game-winning goal midway through the second half to earn its second win over Xaverian this season. Senior Ethan Bowen converted a pass from junior Lucas Moura in the 60th minute to help the Panthers grab two points.

No delay in the trash and recycling pick up schedule this week

There is no delay in the trash and recycling schedule this week. Yes, Monday is Columbus Day and a holiday with Town offices and the Library closed. 

This is NOT one of the holidays that brings a delay in the curbside trash schedule. If your trash is scheduled for Monday, Monday is the day.

– Franklin had nine shots on net and had a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks but the Panthers settled for a scoreless draw on the road against Algonquin (5-1-3). Breanna Atwood made seven saves in net for Franklin.

Franklin in Focus presents Election 2018: Candidates and Issues - Oct 13

Franklin in Focus is presenting an informative event for Franklin voters on Saturday, October 13 at the Franklin Public Library from 9:15 to 11:30 AM – just prior to the start of the downtown Harvest Festival!

The event includes a primer about registering and voting. Invited speakers will comment on 2018 ballot questions.

* The keynote event at 9:15 will be a moderated debate between Representative Jeff Roy (D), and Patrick Casey (R), both vying for the seat representing Franklin and Medway (10th Norfolk District). Audience members may submit questions for either or both candidates at the start of the morning.

* Town Clerk Theresa Burr will provide a primer on this year's ballot as well as information on registering to vote and absentee ballots.

* Several organizations have been invited to provide speakers to discuss this year's ballot questions.
