That would be the first and last goal for Attleboro as the boys quickly rebound on the next shift when Anthony Lampasona snaps a Carter Balducci rebound home. The second goal of the period would come when Jack Wernig intercepts a breakout pass and slides it to Pat Daley in the corner who then hits Tommy Balducci in the slots for the 5-holegoal! Joe Torraco got the call in the pipe and comes through with a solid period. The period would end 2-1
2nd Period Recap
After a regroup in between periods boys jumped out quick Dylan McEvoy picks a breakout pass and slides to Ben Jarosz who finds Dan Daley on the backdoor for the goal. 2shifts later Lucas Sheehan breaks the puck out to carter Balducci who finds Ben Paterson streaking through the middle and is off on a 2vl then slides the biscuit to Anthony Lampasona for the backside goal. The next shift Rhys Greenwood, Liam Hager & Angelo Lampasona bring the heavy game keeping Attleboro on their toes and creating several opportunities to punch a ticket none better than when Matt Corvi rips one from the point and somehow the Attleboro goalie gets a glove on it. Matt Corvi, James Donovan, and Lucas Sheehan would continue to stand strong on the blueline translating into another scoreless period for Attleboro. Town Council approves all alcohol license, purchase of Tower truck, hears of Tri-County building plans, & more (video)

The Town Council conducted the first of two meetings for February on Wednesday night. An eventful meeting covering a broad range of town business and updates in just under 3 hours.

Briefly
  • New firefighter/paramedic Kristin Krauss was sworn in. William Blanchard, was sworn in for his promotion to EMS Battalion Chief
  • The 'plus one' all alcohol license request approved in October to send to the Legislature did get the home rule petition passed and came back for Council approval. Confusion around a public hearing and several objections from neighbors and nearby business swayed only one Councilor as the measure passed 8-1
  • Tri-county Regional Voc Tec representatives told the community of the plans underway to build a new school which will require an override vote likely in October. Numbers are still being worked to get to a potential MSBA approval in August and then the vote in October. Stay tuned.
  • The Council authorized the purchase of a new Tower truck for the Fire Dept. The loan won't start until the truck arrives which could be 2-3 years from now. Due to that timing, it was urgent to get the order in now to avoid further costs, and to ensure we have support for the existing unit which is a critical piece of equipment for the Departments emergency response

The audio and recap will be shared in the next couple of days.

Some hybrid aspects in new MA House rules set for this next session

"THE HOUSE on Wednesday unanimously adopted its rules for the two-year term that began four weeks ago, agreeing to eliminate a pandemic-era policy that allowed representatives to participate in sessions and vote remotely.

The rules package also outlines a new hybrid committee hearing structure that will allow for both in-person and remote participation from most legislators and the public.

The reforms headlined a package assembled by House Democrats, who rejected amendments offered during debate to give representatives 60 minutes, rather than 30, to review large floor amendments and to publish how representatives vote on bills in committee.

The House rejected nearly every proposed amendment that was not withdrawn and opted to largely stick with the package rolled out by top Democrats on Tuesday."
