Franklin Post 75 is hosting the American Legion State Junior Baseball tournament - Aug 1 to Aug 5, 2026

Franklin Post 75 is hosting the American Legion State Junior (under 17) Baseball tournament this year. 

The Playoffs will begin on August 1st and run thru August 5 at Franklin High School field. 

There will be 3 or 4 games per day, until a state champion is determined, who will then go on to play in regionals and national playoffs. 

This is the first time Franklin has hosted a state tournament.

Hello Everyone:

I hope this message finds you well. Golf season is here, and I’m excited to share details about a great upcoming event. Please dust off your clubs and join us in early June for a day of golf, networking, prizes, food, drinks, and fun alongside fellow local businesses and professionals.

Our 39th Annual URCC Golf Classic, which will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at New England Country Club.

The event will feature a shotgun scramble start at 8:30 AM, with check‑in beginning at 7:30 AM. Following the tournament, please join us under the tent for food, drinks, prizes, and raffles. The FPAC Golf Tournament is coming up fast.  We are very excited to make this year’s tourney bigger and better.

Take a day off work for a charitable cause, and test your skills in 18 holes of golf at the New England Country Club! Compete with friends, family, and co-workers for on-course hole contests (50/50 Hole, Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive) and raffle prizes!

3rd Annual #NickStrong Golf Tournament - June 15

We’re looking forward to our third annual golf tournament!

The Nick Strong Foundation is dedicated to supporting pediatric cancer research and helping pediatric cancer patients and their families.

Driving Towards Hope

We are pleased to announce that 100% of the proceeds from the golf tournament will go directly towards funding germ cell tumor research at the Jackson Laboratory. 

The past two year’s generous donations to the Jackson Laboratory allowed tangible progress to happen quickly. With traditional funding, the research may have had to wait two more years before making the level of progress we helped make in a matter of months.

We are truly grateful for Dr. Lau and his team of experts who are working around the clock on finding a cure. Without your help, research like this can not move forward, especially with federal funding being cut. Together, we hope to find a cure in honor of Nick and all other children who have faced this horrific disease!

Join us for the **first-ever Eddie Grant Classic Kickball Tournament**, a fun-filled community event bringing families, friends, and local businesses together for a day of friendly competition and fundraising. This double-elimination tournament will feature teams from across the community competing for bragging rights, a trophy, and prizes — all while supporting local causes and celebrating community spirit.

Who Was Eddie Grant?

Eddie Grant was a Franklin native, Major League Baseball player, Dean- and Harvard-educated attorney, and World War I soldier who exemplified leadership, service, and community spirit. After volunteering for military service during WWI, he was killed in action in 1918 while assisting wounded soldiers. His legacy reflects teamwork, sacrifice, and dedication to something greater than oneself — values we aim to honor through this community-focused event.

⏰ **Time:** 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Tournament Details

* Double elimination format (8 teams max)

* 5-inning games

* 30-minute time limit (revert to last full inning if time expires)

* Played using official kickball rules

Team Composition

* Minimum of 10 players per team

* At least **3 kids (ages 12–17)**

* At least **3 women (age 17+)**

💲 **Registration Cost:** $200 per team

🏆 **Prize:** Trophy & prize for 1st place team

More Than Just Kickball!

This is a full community event with something for everyone:

Boston Globe: "The MIAA’s revenue from state tournaments has been dropping steadily over the last several years."

"A downhill ski run best resembles the trend of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association’s net revenues for its tournaments over the past four years.

Dipping a total of 70 percent from $737,040 in fiscal year 2022 to a little less than $218,000 in 2025, the economics of the statewide tournament system implemented by the MIAA five years ago are not adding up.

“Certainly I’m not an alarmist to say that I have a huge level of concern. We have a reality that you can’t just keep slipping down to zero,” MIAA executive director Bob Baldwin said.

Administrative costs have climbed more than 50 percent over the four years while revenues from the fall, winter, and spring tournaments combined have dropped more than 20 percent."
