4H Alarm Robotics does more than keep education alive at the Brick School (audio)

FM #1131 = This is the Franklin Matters radio show, number 1131x in the series.

This session of the radio show shares my conversation with FIRST Alarm Robotics held in the Franklin TV & radio studio Jan 4, 2024. Steve Dunbar, Business Manager and Pallavi Naravane, one of the group’s mentors.

Our conversation touched on the following:

  • So what is 4H Alarm Robotics 2079 all about?

  • How did you get involved and what is your current role?

  • How many members do you have and where are they from?

  • What the team has done over the past year.

  • What else can you tell us that could get folks to check out 4H Alarm Robotics?

  • Where can they get more information?

The conversation runs about 30 minutes so let’s listen and find out about Alarm Robotics. Audio link -> https://franklin-ma-matters.captivate.fm/episode/fm-1131-4h-alarm-robotics-2079-01-04-24

67 Degrees Announces They're Moving from Grove St to Roslindale but coming back to Downtown Franklin (sometime TBD)

"Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all survived this monster storm we had over the weekend
We would like to share some news with our loyal fans and confirm what we have already confided with many of our regulars.
We will suspend our operations at 158 Grove Street effective 10 February.
The weekend of 26 Jan will likely be the last days of the taproom. Over the past year we have been working to finalize a deal that would put us in a location downtown Franklin where we will be able to provide a better craft beer experience to our guests; more details to follow.

In the meantime, we are excited to announce that we will take up residency @thesubstationros Beer Hall from February through May. We hope to see you all there! It is an amazing space that is very accessible in Roslindale.
Miss us in the taproom? You can always catch us at the Wrentham Outlets Beer garden."

Molly Dee talks about her work on the Artsy Box Project near Davis Thayer (audio)

FM #1129 = This is the Franklin Matters radio show, number 1129 in the series.

This session of the radio show shares my recorded conversation with Molly Dee. Molly is one of the artists who were selected for the Franklin Cultural District Artsy Box Project. The Artsy Box Project is now fully visible in and around downtown Franklin.

This is the second of a 2 part series. This is my conversation with Molly Dee. She is the artist who did the utility box at the corner near the former Davis Thayer School. It was good to talk with Molly. She surprised me with an answer to a simple question.

The show notes contain links to the photos showing the before, in process, and finished works.

I hope you learn something about their art and appreciate a little more about the role of art in Franklin.

Let’s listen to my conversation with Molly. Audio link -> https://franklin-ma-matters.captivate.fm/episode/fm-1129-artsy-box-project-part-2-of-2-molly-dee

The first part is my conversation with Shilpa Adduri, Jeni LaBollita, and Julia Dwinell. These three conversations were recorded before the Artsy Box painting started (April 2023). Each artist provided some of their background, about their work, and in particular on their Artsy Box project.  The Recording of Part 1 ->
