FPAC Announces Little Women Cast

Katie Gray
Katie Gray
The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC)’s 2024-25 season will conclude with the musical adaptation of Little Women June 6-8 at THE BLACK BOX. The production is directed by NYC’s Ali Funkhouser with music direction by FPAC’s Resident Music Director Hallie Wetzell and features a cast of NYC, Boston, Providence, and local talent.

NYC’s Katie Gray leads the cast as Jo March, the character based on Alcott herself. Gray is joined by Rhode Island-based actress Myranda Rose Silva as Meg, Boston’s Anissa Perona as Beth, and Marymount Manhattan College Musical Theater rising senior Hayley Driscoll as Amy. The cast also stars Miracle Myles of the Hadestown national tour as Laurie, NYC’s Robbie Rescigno as Professor Bhaer, and Boston’s Andrew Scott Holmes as John Brooke.

Little Women features FPAC favorites Kellie Stamp as Marmee, Nick Paone as Mr. Laurence, and Kim Frigon as Aunt March. The show’s ensemble includes college musical theater students Macie Hoben and Jason Robert Warner as well as three FPAC Student Apprentices from the Franklin School for the Performing Arts: Ani Corkran, Hailey Hulbig, and Alina Kanakry.

Based on Louisa May Alcott's life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested – her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America. Little Women embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears, and a lifting of the spirit. The powerful score soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache, and hope – the sounds of a young America finding its voice.

FPAC is an Actors’ Equity Small Professional Theater company based at THE BLACK BOX in downtown Franklin. Each season, FPAC produces musicals, plays, ballets, and more featuring Broadway stars, professional actors, local artists, and students of the arts.

Tickets for Little Women are available at FPAConline.com or by calling the box office at 508-528-3370. Follow Franklin Performing Arts Company and THE BLACK BOX on Facebook and Instagram for updates on programming.

Ryan Lanigan || HockomockSports.com Editor, provides the game recap

"If there was a list of the top boys lacrosse games in Hockomock League history, there would be a new addition to it after Monday night.

Franklin sophomore Nate Walsh scored the game-winning goal with just 16 seconds left to hand the Panthers a thrilling 11-10 win over previously undefeated Mansfield in a terrific back-and-forth game under the lights at Alumni Field.

The first half featured 15 goals, nearly split evenly with the hosts holding a slight one-goal edge. Then the second half was dominated by the defenses and the goalies with the teams combining for just six goals, a 4-2 advantage for the visitors.

Both teams entered without a blemish in league play so far. With the win, Franklin extended its unbeaten streak against Hock foes to 58 in a row, dating back to 2018."

"Your participation in this caucus is more than just attending a meeting, it's a declaration of commitment to our democracy," said Rachel Plukas, Chair of the Franklin Democratic Town Committee. "In a time when fundamental rights and freedoms are on the line, showing up and staying engaged have never been more important."

The 2025 Convention will be held in-person at the MassMutual Center in Springfield on Saturday, September 13, 2025. The convention will serve as both the culmination of the platform development process and a rallying moment for the crucial elections ahead. Attendees will hear from inspiring leaders—including members of the Democratic congressional delegation, state legislative champions, Governor Healey, and Lieutenant Governor Driscoll.

About the Franklin Democratic Town Committee
The Franklin Democratic Town Committee (FDTC) is the official organization of the Democratic Party in Franklin, MA. The committee typically meets on the second Monday of each month at the Franklin TV and Radio Station on Hutchinson Street. FDTC meetings combine planning events, hearing reports from sub-committees, and discussing relevant local, state, and national issues. The committee often hosts local and state candidates or officials who speak about policies being considered at the Massachusetts State House.

The FDTC is actively involved in the community, supporting Democratic candidates at all levels, organizing voter outreach, helping citizens get to the polls, and advocating for important issues like equal rights, affordable healthcare and education, reproductive rights, economic justice, and environmental protection.

All registered Democrats residing in Franklin are welcome to attend meetings and join the committee. To learn more about the FDTC's activities and initiatives, visit franklindemocrats.org.

Youth (ages 16-35), people with disabilities, people of color, veterans, and members of the LGBTQ+ community who are not elected as delegates or alternates are encouraged to apply to be add-on delegates at the caucus or by visiting massdems.org/caucus-and-convention.

A $75 registration fee is required for delegates and alternates, with a reduced fee of $50 available for students, seniors (age 65 and older), and persons with disabilities. Financial hardship should not prevent participation—fee waivers are available for those who need them.

Those interested in getting involved with the Franklin Democratic Town Committee should contact Rachel Plukas at Chair@franklindemocrats.org.
