HockomockSports.com: "Franklin Carries Unbeaten Streak All the Way to State Title Game"

"With five minutes remaining in Tuesday night’s Div. 1 state semifinal at Doyle Field, Franklin won a free kick in the attacking third. The Panthers had been protecting a one-goal lead since midway through the first half and were so close to the program’s second title game appearance.

Senior center back Cassidy Carmignani, whose Olimpico goal had put Franklin in front, drove the ball at an angle into the box. Concord-Carlisle keeper Aubrey Monaghan came flying out and was challenged by senior winger Gwen Holland.

The ball bobbled around and slipped away from the goalie’s grasp. Sophomore Anna Carosi pounced and calmly drilled the loose ball into the bottom corner for a special birthday goal that sealed a 2-0 victory and a rematch with Natick in the final.

It also extended Franklin’s unbeaten streak to 14 games (13-0-1), since a humbling loss to Medfield in late September. That match proved to be the turning point in a season that is now heading to the very last day."

RAYDIO Announces Annual Holiday Toy Drive At The Doubletree In Milford

Community invited to help “Stuff the Bus” for local families in need this holiday season

Local internet radio station Raydio is once again bringing the community together for a great cause with Raydio’s Holiday Toy Drive, happening Black Friday weekend, November 28th through November 30th, outside the DoubleTree by Hilton in Milford.
The event kicks off at 10 AM on Friday, November 28th, and runs through 5 PM on Sunday, November 30th, as Raydio teams up with the community to stuff a big Vendetti School Bus full of toys for The Santa Foundation, Santa’s Porch, Toys for Kids & Teens, and the Milford Youth Center. Donations of new, unwrapped toys are encouraged to help brighten the holidays for local families in need.

In addition to toy donations, Raydio is also seeking “Shopping Spree Sponsors.”

With a $100 cash donation, Raydio will do the shopping on your behalf — making it easy for individuals and businesses to give back even if they can’t make it in person.

“This event really captures what Raydio is all about,” said Ray Auger, owner and operator of Raydio. “It’s our way of giving back to the community that supports us all year long. Every toy, every donation — it all helps make the season a little brighter for local kids.”

All event details, including drop-off times and sponsor information, can be found on the Raydio Holiday Toy Drive event page on Facebook.

Let’s come together as a community to make the holidays merry and meaningful — one toy at a time.

Tiered Focused Monitoring Review Scheduled at BFCCPS with DESE's Office of Language for Jan 2026

During the week of January 16th the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s (DESE’s) Office of Language Acquisition (OLA) will conduct a Tiered Focused Monitoring Review of Benjamin Franklin Charter School

The Office of Language Acquisition reviews each district’s and charter school’s ELE program every six years to monitor compliance with federal and state English learner education laws and regulations. Areas of review will include English learners’ student assessments, identification of English learners; what programs English learners are placed in, parent and community involvement, curriculum and instruction, student support services, licensure requirements for faculty, staff and administration, program plans, and evaluation and recordkeeping.

In addition to the virtual visit, parent outreach is an important part of the review process. The district will send a survey to the parents of students whose records the review team examines. The survey focuses on key areas of their child’s English learner education program. Survey results will be reviewed by OLA and they will contribute to the monitoring report.

Parents and other individuals may call David Parker, Office of Language Acquisition Review Chairperson, at 781-338-3466 to request a telephone interview. If an individual requires an accommodation, such as translation, to participate in an interview, DESE will make the necessary arrangements.

Within approximately 60 business days of the onsite visit, the review chairperson will provide the charter school with a report with information about areas in which the

charter school meets or exceeds regulatory requirements and areas in which the charter school requires assistance to correct or improve practices. The report will be available to the public at https://www.doe.mass.edu/ele/cpr/.
