State Representative Jeff Roy: What's happening in the district - June 2024

Memorial Day ceremony

Rep. Roy was delighted to offer remarks at the Franklin Memorial Day commemoration on the Town Common to honor the courage of those who faced unimaginable challenges on the battlefield, who stood firm in the face of adversity, and who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live in peace and security.

At both a breakfast and column ceremony on the Town Common, Rep. Roy remembered their valor, their sacrifice, and their unwavering commitment to duty.

And he was proud to mention that in May, the House of Representatives passed the HERO Act. The bill, aptly titled: Honoring, Empowering and Recognizing Our service-members and veterans expands access to supports and benefits for veterans in the Commonwealth. You can learn more about that bill by clicking here.

Franklin Public Schools Message on Override Outcome 6/11/24

Dear Franklin Community,

Thank you to the Franklin voters who took the time to vote today. Unfortunately, the requested Proposition 2 ½ override did not pass, and we must implement program and service cuts as previously communicated.

While this outcome presents significant challenges, we remain dedicated to providing students with a high-quality education. We will continue to prioritize our resources and make the most of the approved budget to ensure our students have every opportunity to succeed.

Respectfully,

Lucas Giguere

Superintendent

Why are there multiple calendars?
There is a Cultural events calendar upon which other community events are layered to create the Community calendar.

Respectfully, the Library and Senior Center calendars are too full of events to include all their events so we tend to focus on the major events. Town and School meetings are also kept separate. Links for all the calendars are shared here:

The Cultural calendar displays only the cultural events
